It depends on how you look at it, yes the P.M. is still more popular than Miliband, but only by one point, if this coverage continues will the numbers look the same next month. Please note that the polling for this took place over Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week so recent news stories [...]

A terminal condition?

There was once a time, hard as it may be to believe now, that the New Labour movement wanted the character above to exit the stage leaving the way clear for Gordon Brown. The coup came in September 2006 and brought forward an exit strategy which saw the champion of New Labour, it’s Martin Johnson [...]
DD 4 Freedom takes off

Today David Davis launched his website www.daviddavisforfreedom.com to help highlight the issues he will be campaigning on and the issues which he stands firm to. Many Members of Parliament would not have dared take the chance of stepping down from their seat to force a by-election, nevermind quit a senior post in the next Conservative [...]
Don’t think TOO hard, the following can happen…

Today’s Independent will see a poll from ComRes which has the Conservative Party 14 points ahead of the Labour Government. This is a bad poll for the government, not just because it is only four days before Londoners go to the Polls to decide whether RedKen gets to keep his job or whether they plump [...]
Has Gordon gone into hiding?

The sure sign of trouble for any politician is when he (or she) starts hiding from the general public. The Guardian have an interesting piece on DC and Gordon getting on the same train bound for the Principality of Wales. Brown apparently hopped on the same train bound for the west of Britain as DC [...]
Labour on the rack

Thursday saw Labour suffer a staggering 18% deficit to the Conservative Party, the same day saw the first teachers strike for over 20 years, along with strikes by the Coast Guard. Then it got worse, the oil refinery at Grangemouth in Scotland started shutting down, this is the only such refinery in Scotland.
Labour is now [...]
Has Gordon screwed his backbenchers?
Posted in Clunking Fist, Labour on April 24, 2008 | Leave a Comment »
Apparently Labour backbenchers are running round Westminster trying to determine whether Gordon and his henchmen have screwed the Labour rebels and whether they are in fact more or less reneging on the deal made only yesterday. If this is true then it could be curtains for the man going for the prize of Biggest bastard [...]
This weeks pet peeve is…. Gordon Broon, aka Mr Bean
Posted in Clunking Fist, Labour, Pet peeve, Tony Blair on April 24, 2008 | 1 Comment »
I know the feeling Bob, really I do.
This week Gordon Brown gets my pet peeve of the week. Why, you ask? Do you really need to ask? Generally for his utter ineptitude in all things having gotten to such a point that I am almost wishing Tony Blair were back. Can it really get any [...]
Why I miss Mr. Blair
Posted in Clunking Fist, Labour, Tony Blair on April 24, 2008 | Leave a Comment »
It may seem very odd to some, I dare say it downright offends others, but I genuinely do miss our former Prime Minister, Tony Blair. No he wasn’t great at Cabinet re-shuffles, no his party were not dead keen on him but he had two invaluable qualities which are distinctly lacking in the current First [...]
They were oh so very wrong…

Teacher strikes, Lifeboat strikes, oil refinery strikes, tax botches and a government on the run… How they must wish the Colgate kid was here to sort it all out for them.
