I am a British Conservative residing between Harrogate and Leeds in Yorkshire. I am interested in politics, history, international relations and economics. Currently I am watching the U.S. election race with some relish and hoping that McCain is able to take the White House in November.

I started the blog MakeSocialismHistory in 2005 for the Conservative Party Leadership contest supporting now Shadow Sec. State for Defence Liam Fox M.P. The site had moderate success on the Right of Centre blog community and was in Iain Dale’s top 50 Right Wing blogs of 2006. Following a lack of blogging on my part for about 10 months and a lack of material from the other writers I decided to shut the site completely in early 2008. The acme politics idea is one that I had last summer and I would like to get people from other political persuasions writing for it, the idea is to create a debate on one blog about different issues and ideals. I consider this a more helpful and interesting idea than the MSH site which was interesting and fun to work on but I believe limited in scope because of the title and angle.

I am currently studying at the University of Leeds for an M.A. in International Relations and am looking to work in this field when I graduate later this year. I am an agnostic and I believe in an independent, unelected House of Lords.
