Scrolling through my stat’s counter page I noticed I was getting rather a lot of hit’s from YNWA.tv, a site I had never heard of before. According to Des who posted a forum response at 09:07 today, I am a bell-end and according to John am Rhein, “Anyone who uses the word ‘oik’ should be [...]

YouGov gives reason to smile (if you’re a Tory)
Posted in Conservatives, Polling on May 9, 2008 | No Comments »
I go out to work for one evening and YouGov publish the results of their latest poll. It is as you will have already heard, 26%. I don’t think digits really do the number justice so, TWENTY-SIX PERCENT! Wow!
Wow, wow and wow again.
There will be certain people who sneer at this poll, certain people mainly [...]
Bob Crow gives a touch of crass to London
Posted in Bob Crow, Boris, London, Mayor of London, The Left, Trots, Unions on May 8, 2008 | No Comments »
The following comment was made by one Bob Crow of the RMT in response to Mayor Johnson’s announcement that after 1st June, the consumption of alcohol on London public transport is to be banned.
“Perhaps the mayor will come out with his underpants on over his trousers like Superman one Saturday to show us how it [...]
Will Boris stay on as MP?
Posted in Boris, Mayor of London, Red Ken on May 7, 2008 | 1 Comment »
I commented earlier in the week that to stay on as MP could damage Boris Johnson’s standing as Mayor of London. However I have just been reminded that Red Ken maintained his Parliamentary seat following his election in 2000. The difference is however that Ken was MP for Brent East, a London constituency, Boris is [...]
The Government’s response to EU Petition
Posted in EU, Petitions on May 7, 2008 | No Comments »
I have just received the Government’s response to a petition I signed earlier this year, the petition was calling for Great Britain’s withdrawal from the European Union (EU), rather unsurprising and disheartening, not that I expected anything other that that. I wonder whether they will accept the petition to Knight Joe Calzaghe, probably, that would [...]
Concession time?

Last nights vote in Indiana was closer than I thought and the Clinton campaign looks as though it is starting to founder. Has Obama done what he failed to complete on Super Tuesday? Has he demolished the most formidable Democrat election machine since the Kennedy era? We shall see.
Update - Just spotted a comment on [...]
Obama vs Clinton vs DNC

There has been a hell of a lot of talk recently about how Clinton cannot possibly win against John McCain come November’s general election. However this evenings exit polls are posing some awkward questions for Barack Obama’s campaign. CNN is reporting that (yeah, I realise that this could be somewhat skewed);
According to early exit polls, [...]
The Left

I used to believe in coalitions. I believed that by working through our differences we could come to common ground on issues and arrive at good policy. The Left have however over the years diminished my belief that coalitions can work and this is, I believe to a point, proven in a post-local elections article [...]
Can the Beeb get any lower?

Mike Smithson over at politicalbetting.com is mad, and rightly so, after watching the clip of the BBC’s coverage of the 2008 local elections I am stunned. How could anyone in their right mind think that this
is either an appropriate or even mature way of covering an election of any type?
I only caught bits of [...]
Lib Dem joy

Well, not joy for the Liberal Democrats, more my joy at their expense…
Looking at the highly annoying all new Beeb website I spotted the results for the Lib Dems in London. They came third in the Mayoral elections, barely beat the Green candidate and perhaps amusing of all they only got their three seats on [...]
