Boris Johnson, the journalist, T.V. presenter and politician, has turned the idea of his being Mayor of London from being a joke into being a real possibility.
The Right wing press have asked serious questions as to whether he can do it properly and bring prosper not only to London, but also for David Cameron. The left have lampooned him and decried the idea of someone the nation loves (with the exceptions of Liverpool and Portsmouth) becoming Mayor of London. In 24 hours we will find out if he has been able to lose his Falstaff image and take control of City Hall from Red Ken.
The latest YouGov poll has Boris leading by 8% on first preference and by 6% on second.
