“Although later identified with traditionally conservative causes, Charlton Heston had been a vocal supporter of Martin Luther King and the 1960s Civil Rights movement.” – BBC WEBSITE 15:30 GMTÂ 6th April, 2008
What is it with the BBC, don’t they think that Conservatives can believe in Civil Rights? I would argue that to be a Conservative is to have Civil Rights at the centre of your political soul. Richard Nixon afterall championed Dr. King’s cause whilst Vice President and was closely linked to Civil Rights throughout the 2nd Eisenhower White House. Can someone please tell these morons at Beeb HQ that Conservatives are not in actual fact anti-civil rights and believe that every man and woman should have the right to exercise their vote? Either that or fire the moron who wrote this.
