C.N.N. has projected John McCain to win in New Hampshire, however Democrat wonder boy Barack Obama is currently trailing the Clinton machine, with former Sen. John Edwards coming in a distant third. My preferred candidate, former Mayor, Rudolf Giuliani came in with 9% of the vote so far and has given a speech conceding the Primary and stating that he was moving on to Florida to fight for what is now being dubbed “Super-duper Tuesday” when 22 States will go to the polls. Giuliani has been concentrating on these States which are due to vote later in January and I for one hope that the tactic will pay off!
Romney has come in Second, “gaining another silver” as he put it, and has congratulated McCain on running a good campaign, the mood was much more congenial than it had been in the debate last week when Romney and McCain really sparked off each others charges. My feelings about Romney have changed a great deal over the past few weeks, I did not really like the man to begin with but he seems to have come into himself when the pressure has been on, and sure there is the fact that he has been running attack adds, but that’s politics… deal with it. Romney is running as the man who will shake up Washington, the man who wants to change the way it works, this is something that would work very well for him as it allows him to disown the policies of the present Republican administration without so much as a by-your-leave. He has really changed tac since Obama came out as favourite last week and is now trying the trick which has worked so well for Obama, to unify the USofA, behind one leader, not one party.
Rudy does I believe hold the greater hope for the USA and would be the best candidate that the GOP could select (in my opinion).
The Democrat race is still too close to call… personally I’m hoping for a Clinton win, I can’t stand the woman but it would put her back on track and do Obama some damage, especially as we heard earier this evening that his team were predicting a double digit win. A Clinton nomination would give the GOP an edge and would considerably hinder the Democrat race for the White House, let’s just hope that she gets it!
